Baroque style building from 1777

This impressive building was completed by the merchant Johann Egli in 1777. It is located on the then important route between St. Gallen and Flawil. Since then it has passed through many hands, it has been a restaurant and a brewery among other uses.

For its new owner we did a complete survey and checked the structures thoroughly together with the team of AHP architects and engineers and external experts.

almost everything has been preserved for these 240 years in a state that allows restoration.

The building is distinguished by the excellent quality of its materials and has great cultural and historical significance. Later uses (guest rooms, brewery, ballroom) only affect the original structure in limited areas and should be considered part of the building's history.

With the exception of very few fittings, everything is in its original state and has lasted more than two hundred and forty years. Restoration of all parts is feasible.

We reviewed with commercial kitchen planning experts the feasibility and costs to redo what a modern restaurant facility demands.

The AHP Architects team followed to develop the final project.
